GNERC has set a new electricity generation tariff for Enguri HPP LLC

17 Dec 2020 Under the decision taken by GNERC, the tariff for 2021–2023 has been set at 1.857 tetri per kWh.

By the decision taken at the session of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission on 17 December 2020, the electricity generation tariff for Enguri HPP LLC has changed. Under the new decision, the tariff for 2021–2023 has been set at 1.857 tetri per kWh. It should be noted that a year earlier, on 30 December 2019, GNERC reduced the electricity generation tariff for Enguri HPP LLC in force in 2018–2019 from 1.818 tetri per kWh to 1.358. This means that under the new decision the tariff for Enguri HPP LLC has in effect returned to its earlier level.

The change also affected the tariff set for the Vardnili HPP cascade. The electricity generation tariff set for the company for 2021–2023 is 2.565 tetri per kWh. Before December 2019 that figure was 4.002 tetri per kWh. By the decision taken at last year’s GNERC session, the tariff set for the Vardnili HPP cascade was reduced to 2.206 tetri per kWh.
