22 Mar 2022 Levan Mebonia: “It has to be said that in the energy sector we Georgian and Abkhaz power engineers have a normal, one might say the best, relationship.”

“It has to be said that we Georgian and Abkhaz power engineers have a normal, one might say the best, relationship... We meet constantly, we consider problems together. Since 1993 I cannot recall a single case where we came into conflict over anything or damaged the interests of Enguri HPP or of one another,” said Levan Mebonia, chairman of the Board of Directors of Enguri HPP LLC.

“Local young people mastered the technical potential here well, right from the time of construction. So the local personnel can dismantle and reassemble a unit. Whereas in the early days we were served by organisations of all-Union scale, today all of this is done by local personnel,” explained Gia Khubua, technical director of Enguri HPP LLC.
